Sun ALSCO, LLC Acquires Owens Corning Metal Systems;

New Business Named ALSCO Metals Corporation

RALEIGH, N.C., May 2003 – Sun ALSCO, LLC an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners, Inc. acquired Owens Corning Metal Systems and the new business began operation as ALSCO Metals Corporation (ALSCO), said Larry Hipps, chief executive officer of ALSCO.

Headquartered in Raleigh, ALSCO is the largest supplier of residential aluminum soffit, fascia, trim, siding and gutter systems in North America. ALSCO's nationally marketed product lines include fabricated aluminum products, painted and bare aluminum sheet, and it sells its products world wide through an extensive network of distributors.

ALSCO's industry leadership is sustained by a beginning-to-end manufacturing integration that is unique in the industry, said Hipps. ALSCO’s U.S. manufacturing facilities include its own rolling mills, coating and roll forming equipment, and state-of-the-art testing facilities.
