ALSCO Metals Corporation Timeline

1947 First ALSCO manufacturing facility located in Akron, Ohio. The company name is an acronym for the Aluminum Storm Window Company. ALSCO grows its business into the biggest aluminum window and door manufacturing in the world. Bold new marketing programs bring ALSCO’s name to the forefront of the home improvement industry. Development of new products and patents take top priority.

1970 ALSCO celebrates its 25th anniversary. ALSCO continues to provide leadership and innovation in the industry.

1971 ALSCO becomes ALSCO Anaconda, Inc. and is affiliated with the Anaconda Aluminum Co.

1977 ALSCO Anaconda’s purchase by Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) makes the ALSCO Anaconda part of the 12th largest corporation in the U.S. Distribution of aluminum products continues to expand worldwide.

1984 AmeriMark was formed through the acquisition of Clark Brothers
Siding Products, a leading metal fabricator in the Midwestern U.S. with a reputation as a service leader in its markets. AmeriMark was one of the manufacturers who started from raw materials in every product category.

In the summer of 1984, AmeriMark acquired Wolverine Coil coating (Wolverine)
formerly a division of CertainTeed. Wolverine was a toll coater in the aluminum industry and had extension coating capabilities in aluminum and steel.

AmeriMark acquired Alumark Soffit and Siding Products (Alumark) a former asset of Hunter Douglas, Inc. Based in the southeastern U.S., Alumark was a national metal fabricator and was the first AmeriMark Company to enter the vinyl siding business.

1985 AmeriMark acquired Hastings Rainware Products (Hastings) a
division of National Steel. Hastings was the largest supplier of coated aluminum to the U.S. aluminum-rainware industry.

1989 AmeriMark acquired ALSCO Building Products (ALSCO),
formerly a division of Arco Chemicals. ALSCO had its own aluminum-casting facility as well as one of the leading vinyl-siding facilities in the southeast. ALSCO was a leading name in aluminum building products, more than 5 million homes were covered with ALSCO Aluminum siding

1991 AmeriMark receives financial backing from General Electric Capital Corporation.

1997 AmeriMark acquired the construction products division of Reynolds Metals Company, which included production facilities for windows, vinyl siding, and aluminum fabrication; an aluminum mini-mill; and multiple service centers.

1998 AmeriMark begins doing business with Owens Corning Metals

2003 An affiliate of Sun Capital Partners, Inc. acquired Owens Corning Metals. The new company is known as ALSCO Metals Corporation.

2006 Aleris purchases ALSCO Metals Corporation.

2007 Closing of Beloit and Roxboro Fabrication Facilities.
